Joining AKM Projects as a Senior Project Manager in 2009 during the BER program, Michael took the final leap to ‘having some skin in the game’ by becoming a Director of AKM Projects in 2013. A native of Newport in the west of Ireland, Michael is a qualified carpenter and completed a degree in Business from Galway GMIT. Since leaving Ireland, Michael has spent time in construction in both the United States and UK before arriving in Australia. A valued member of the AKM Projects Team since 2011, Tom O’Driscoll hails from Dublin. Tom completed his carpentry/joinery apprenticeship at Dun Laoghaire College in Dublin. Tom quickly established himself as a hardworking and popular member of the crew and his leadership skills were recognised when he put in charge of the modular building segment of our business. Commencing with factory construction, Tom was soon leading AKM to site establishment on interstate projects and ultimately full complexing of multi-storey buildings. Since then, Tom has played a key role in some of our biggest projects including Castle Hill & Winston Hills ARV.
Arriving in Australia in April 2009 and then commencing with AKM Projects in September the same year, Morgan Lalor adds to the distinctly ‘green’ feel of AKM Projects. Morgan completed his training as a carpenter/joiner at GMIT at Galway in the west of Ireland. Since being with AKM, Morgan has led numerous projects including our fitout of Pittwater RSL for Paynter Dixon, numerous BER school sites and was our leading hand for our factory crew whilst we completed modular building works for APBB – often leading a team of up to 30 tradesmen. Now living in Hornsby in the northern suburbs, Morgan is married with two children and still finds time to play hurling.
